KAMAZ Group Produced and Realized more Products than in 2007
OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2008. For ten months of 2008 the enterprises of KAMAZ Group produced and realized marketable products for RUB 79 billion 150 million (by 1.3% more than the last year performance in comparable prices).
There were produced and realized:
– 44533 trucks (+3.0% or +1272 units as compared to the same period of 2007);
– 58585 engines and power units (+12.3% or +6427 units);
– spare parts for the sum of RUB 9 billion 752 million (+0.7%);
– diversification products for RUB 8 billion 014 million (–10.3%).
In addition, there were rendered services for RUB 4 billion 904 million.
The world crisis which reached Russia brought down good performances of the Russian machine-building enterprises literally for a couple of months and in all areas. The Russian automobile plants failed to avoid their clients’ buying power fall which means that demand and sales volumes were reduced. Thus, in October there were realized 2677 KAMAZ trucks – by 46.6% less than in August, the best month of the year. There were realized 34174 trucks via the dealer network and direct deliveries on the home market. This is still more than for the same period of 2007 by 8.0% or 2525 units, but already by 4208 thousand less than the company planned.
Due to certain circumstances the external market began to break down even earlier than the Russian one. From the beginning of the year foreign customers received 10359 KAMAZ vehicles. This is less than for the same period of 2007 by 10.7% or 1239 units. In October there were shipped only 644 units – by 55% less than it was planned to export and, consequently, less than the volumes of the contracts concluded earlier. The sales lowered more than 4 times on some foreign markets because of customers’ insolvency.
In fact, during the first 8 months of the year the most achievements of the business plan of KAMAZ Inc. was supported by the growing demand on the domestic market and the increasing production capacities of KAMAZ itself which will naturally be kept: every fall is sure to be followed by a new ascent. We have every reason to suppose that Russia will cope with the crisis much faster than most countries.
