OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 November was announced, that in early November, Kremenchuk-based Kriukivskyi railcar plant (KSOD) completed construction of the assembling-welding shop worth UAH 34 million at the passenger railcar-building department.

On November 5, board chairman of the plant Yevhen Khvorost signed the relevant resolution on creation of the new workshop.

In particular, by February 2009, the plant will elaborate the schedule of assembles for the assembling-welding shop and the new division will obtain new personnel.

After the commissioning of the new shop, the capacity of the enterprise will make up about 300 passenger railcars a year, when currently the annual figure is 100 railcars.

The new shop will assemble "Ukraine" railcars and cars for subways.

In 2007, the Kriukivskyi railcar plant increased output by 68.23% or 3,020 cars, compared to 2006, to 7,445 cars of 12 different types.

The plant manufactures freight (flat-cars, tanks, bunker-type cars, gondola-cars) and passenger cars, spare parts and truck of freight cars, wheel pairs, spare parts for subway cars and escalators, containers and road machinery.

The Skinest Finants company owns 24.95% of the shares in the Kriukivskyi railcar plant, which is registered as an open joint-stock enterprise, the Transbuilding Service Limited company (Great Britain) holds 24.97% of the shares; as of April 2004, 20% of the shares were owned by the Kyiv-based TEKO Dniprometyz holding company. According to the plant, as of January 2004, the Kriukivskyi railcar plant concern held 11.95% of its shares.
