OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 November was announced, that Large Ukrainian ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers producer, Dniprodzerzhynsk-based DniproAzot (DNAZ), Dnipropetrovsk region, suspended production last week (November 3-7), Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration spokesperson said.

In his words, the enterprise was forced to lay off production because of hard financial condition.

He added that the suspension is temporary.

DniproAzot ended 2007 with a net profit of UAH 41.742 million, having increased its net revenue by 12.66% or UAH 133.3 million to UAH 1,185.9 million, compared to 2006.

24.97% of the shares in DniproAzot belong to the Magnum Progress company, and 24.67% to Leader Estate (both based in Dnipropetrovsk).

According to the Top 100 rating of Ukrainian companies published by the InvestGazeta newspaper, DniproAzot is in the sphere of influence of businessman Ihor Kolomoiskyi of the Pryvat group.

DniproAzot, registered as an open joint-stock company, specializes in production of ammonia, carbamide, caustic soda, chlorine and hydrochloric acid, being one of the five leading chemical plants in Ukraine.
