OREANDA-NEWS. On November 10, 2008 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed Decree No 605 “On Some Issues of Privatization of Republican Unitary Enterprises”, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.

This document sets out a list of republican unitary companies which transformation into open joint-stock companies owned by the Republic of Belarus will not be accompanied by the selling of their shares on privileged terms for cash assets or their exchange for personal privatization vouchers “Property”.

The list includes companies essential for the national economy, which are subordinate to the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy, State Military and Industrial Committee, Belarusian State Oil and Chemistry Concern, and which are held in republican ownership and included in the 2008-2010 privatization plan.

Economic incentives for republican enterprises included on this list will be retained with respect to the open joint-stock companies set up as a result of privatization of these enterprises.

Implementation of the provisions of this Decree will help attract big investment into the newly-formed open joint-stock companies.
