OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2008. The Russian-Algerian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation held its third session on November 6, 2008, in Moscow. Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko led the Russian delegation, while Algerian Minister of Finance Karim Dzhudi headed the Algerian delegation.

Representatives of ministries and agencies of the Russian Federation, top executives of leading Russian companies – including Stroytransgaz First Vice-Presidents Leonid Bokhanovsky and Evgeny Zagorodny  – took part in the work of the commission on Russia’s behalf.

During the session, each country summarized the results of the commission’s work over the two years that had ensued since the last meeting. They made plans for future development of bilateral relations in the near term. Representatives from Stroytransgaz stressed their wish to press forward to long-term, fruitful collaboration and confirmed the interest of their company in projects realization in Algeria in oil and gas, energy, and infrastructure.

In Moscow on the eve of the meeting of the Russian-Algerian Intergovernmental commission, the Ambassador of the Algerian People's Democratic Republic held a meeting at his residency for Algerian Minister of Finance Karim Dzhudi and members of the Russian business community. Russian participants, including those from Stroytransgaz, received information on large investment programs of the Algerian government.
