OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2008. The Government along with the National Bank of Ukraine has elaborated a number of measures on supporting agrarians in the period of crops prices stabilization in the world markets. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told in a meeting with agrarians and bankers.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Government is ready to finance the reduction of extended credit interests of agrarian enterprises. The PM said that Government had negotiated with representatives of the banking system.

As she says, all banks which extend credits for agrarians, will obtain additional payment from the Government. The Head of Government informed that about UAH 700 million would be appropriated to that end. “The Government will be a reliable partner and we disburse this interest reduction so that banks can extend credits reduction for agrarians till June 1, 2009 at earlier set credit rate,” she stated.

The PM of Ukraine also informed that Government had made a request to the NBU to support commercial banks which would extend credits to agrarians.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko said that Government means to approve a decision on simplifying the grain export procedure at its regular sitting.
