OREANDA-NEWS. On November 12, 2008 Ukrzaliznytsia has obtained a credit of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at the sum of US125 million and a credit of the European Investment Bank at EUR175 million. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko informed opening the Gov’t sitting.

The Ukrainian Premier is sure that this enables Ukraine be stronger. According to her, credits of European banks provided to Ukrzaliznytsia will be aimed at increasing the train depot.

According to her, ordering an ample quantity of trains will encourage formation of the domestic metal products market. “We are advancing step by step to create a domestic metal products trading and compensate for export which the Ukrainian metallurgical plants lost,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.

At that the Head of Government stated about intention to carry on all necessary negotiations to buy these trains exceptionally at Ukrainian machine works at reduced prices. It means that this program for Ukrzaliznytsia will be one of the program items for preventing the global financial crisis in Ukraine,” she added.
