OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2008. The solemn ceremony for awarding the winners of the First Regional Workmanship Contest among the enterprises and employees of the road transport sector was held on October 23’ 2008 in the Saratov Drama Theatre. This event, dedicated to the Day of the Road Transport and Road Maintenance Employees, has been sponsored by the insurance company ROSNO, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The contest was arranged by the Ministry of Development of the Transport Sector of the Saratov Region, Saratov Regional Department of State Road Supervision, and the regional Road Police Department.

This contest has been held to maintain high level of competence and professionalism of the road transport sector personnel, and facilitate improvement of quality of the services rendered by the passenger- and cargo transportation companies. Following the results of the contest selection, the winners were determined in 17 nominations, grouped into 2 categories: "Best Organization" and "Best in Profession".

The best conductor and the best driver have been chosen by the residents of the Saratov Region by means of phone calls, SMS- and Web poll.

"This contest represents an excellent opportunity to draw public attention to the achievements of these people, whose conscientious and reliable work is the critical factor in everyday operation of the cities, regions, and our country in general. These are the road transport and road maintenance sector employees," said Dmitry Lebedev, director of ROSNO’s Saratov branch. "Cargo and passenger transportation has always been associated with risk, and ROSNO is always ready to provide protection to the companies involved in this business".
