OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2008. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) in the Belgorod region fined "Belgorodskaya Sbytovaya Compania" OJSC ("BSC" OJSC) 105 644 450 Rubles under Article 14.31 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation for abusing dominant position, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier the Belgorod OFAS Russia recognized that "Belgorodskaya Sbytovaya Compania" OJSC violated Clause 4 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (economically or technologically ungrounded reduction or termination of goods production) and issued a determination to eliminate the violations.

The case was initiated upon a petition of the 42 Garage Cooperative. In December 2007 "Belgorodskaya Sbytovaya Compania" OJSC stopped supplying electrical power for a period of around three months, despite the payment. In the payment documents, "BSC" OJSC, along with such details as the name of the payer, and bank details, required the consumer to specify its customer/vendor account. The company introduced customer/vendor account on its own initiative, without any statutory provisions.

Having investigated the case, the antimonopoly office issued a determination to "Belgorodskaya Sbytovaya Compania" OJSC on inadmissibility of the actions, which can result in restricting or eliminating competition and violate the antimonopoly legislation.

"Belgorodskaya Sbytovaya Compania" OJSC executed the determination within the designated period.
