OREANDA-NEWS. November 05, 2008. Vladimir Kirillov, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Management (Rosprirodnadzor), visited Tatneft and a number of industrial and environmental facilities of the Company during his visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

While visiting the  oil company he was accompanied by Fatikh Sibagatullin, Chairman of the subcommittee on hydrocarbon raw materials of the Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Farit Khayrutdinov, Head of Rosprirodnadzor Section for the Republic of Tatarstan,  Marat Magdeev, Acting Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the  Republic of Tatarstan, etc.

In OOO MPT Center the guests witnessed demonstrative production of metal/plastic pipes with corrosion-resistant coating. At SIKN No. 224 of NGDU Almetevneft the guests familiarized with the technology of registering and custody transfer of crude oil into trunk pipelines. Also here the guests were told about the vapor recovery units, which are installed on the storage tanks. The delegation also visited OOO Industrial Ecology, where they were presented the technology of integrated processing and disposal of the oil containing wastes.

Later the guests had a meeting with the top management of the Company represented by Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of Tatneft, and Nail Ibragimov, Deputy General Director on Production - Chief Engineer of the Company, at the headquarters of Tatneft, who presented environment conservation activities of the Company in greater details. There was exchange of views during which the head of Rosprirodnadzor highly appraised the results achieved by Tatneft in ensuring industrial and environmental safety of the region.

Vladimir Kirillov said after meeting: "The purpose of  the visit was to obtain a better knowledge about the work carried out by oil companies and specifically by Tatneft in order to comply with environment protection laws, to get a closer look at the existing technologies applied today to protect the environment.

Facilities of Tatneft, which we visited, inspire confidence and optimism. We have seen that people work here with the knowledge of the subject matter taking closely the environment preservation and protection, introducing new technologies, which increase as the equipment life period, and securely protect the environment from adverse industrial impact. This shows that people care not only about today's daily bread, but the prospect of living of our future generations: children and grandchildren.

On the same day the delegation left for Nizhnekamsk visiting the construction site of OAO Taneko: the complex of a refinery and a petrochemical plants.
