Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih Reduced Production of Finished Steel By 23%
OREANDA-NEWS On 01 November was announced, that in September, the Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih (KSTL) reduced production of finished steel by 23% or 90,000 tons to 301,000 tons, compared to August.
In September, the Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih reduced steel production by 21.5% or 114,150 tons to 418,000 tons, pig iron by 12.1% or 59,300 tons to 431,300 tons, and agglomerate by 13.8% or 116,100 tons to 728,000 tons, compared to August.
In January-September 2008, compared to January-September 2007, Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih decreased output of finished steel by 12.4% or 661,000 tons to 4,663,000 tons.
In August, Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih reduced rolled metal output by 25% or 130,000 tons to 391,000 tons, compared to July.
In 2007, Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih increased the output of rolled metal by 4.3% or 294,100 tons to 7,148,000 tons, compared to 2006, steel by 6.8% or 512,400 tons to 8,103,000 tons, pig iron by 6.1% or 412,700 tons to 7,208,000 tons, agglomerate by 4.9% or 556,000 tons to 11,954,000 tons.
The Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih ore mining and metallurgical plant ended 2007 with UAH 3.798 billion in net profits.
Mittal Steel Germany GmbH owning 94.6456% in the plant is part of international holding Arcelor Mittal.
Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih is Ukraine's biggest rolled steel producer specializing in long-length rolled steel production, in particular, the production of rod iron and fittings.
