KazSat -1 Returned to Orbital Position
OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2008. Russian and Kazakh experts detected the cause of the contingency in KazSat -1 satellite which had occurred on June 8, 2008. Khrunichev State Space Center has carried out some activities to recover the satellite.
KazSat -1 was returned to its orbital position in October. Now the payload is being tested.The satellite is expected to be comissioned after successful completion of onboard system tests.
KazSat -1 was developed by Khrunichev Center under the for Kazakhstan. It was orbited in June 2006 and handed over to Kazakhstan in the fall 2006.
