OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2008. For nine months of 2008, volume of loans, issued by the commercial banks of Moldova, increased by 20,56% since the beginning of the year and by 35,92% in comparison with the same period of the last year.

According to NBM, in January-September 2008, commercial banks have issued loans worth over 25 billion leis. At the same time, the structure of the loans has changed. For example, the share of loans to agriculture and food industry as well as consumption loans has decreased.

Meanwhile the share of loans for construction of housing has increased. For example, the share of loans to agriculture decreased by 1.93 points - up to 13.6%, consumer loans - by 0.65 points - up to 14.47%, while volume of loans for construction of housing grew by 2.21 points, reaching 14.47%.

At the same time, most credits were issued to industry and trade - about 48%, or 1.18 points more than in January-September 2007.
