Aladdin Group Started Construction Works on ADIDAS Distribution Center
OREANDA-NEWS On 31 October was announced, that Immo Industry Group (IIG) and its Ukrainian joint venture partner Aladdin Group started construction works on a distribution center for the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas Group at the IIG-Aladdin Group Industrial Park V in Kiev, Ukraine.
The assignment is a confirmation of IIG’s industrial parks strategy in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States countries. adidas was looking for new premises in Ukraine that would accommodate its anticipated growth. adidas, by far the sports goods market leader in Ukraine, is keen to seize additional opportunities, such as the 2012 European football championships, which Ukraine is co-hosting with Poland. Therefore, adidas was keen to consolidate its distribution centres and increase capacity. A suitable location, a reliable real estate developer and the possibility to obtain facility extensions were adidas’ main criteria. adidas was impressed with IIG’s track record and engineering capabilities. The local skills and expertise of IIG and its corporate partner, Aladdin Group, also played an important role in convincing the sporting goods manufacturer and distributor. As is the case with all projects at IIG’s industrial parks, IIG developed a tailor-made and cost optimised solution that met adidas’ specific needs and requirements.
IIG’s solution addressed adidas’ wide range of requirements. IIG’s associated branch Immo Industry Logistics and Process Solutions (IILPS) improved the facility’s efficiency by designing a goods flow-through system, preventing warehouse traffic congestion by in- and outbound goods crossing paths. IIG’s engineers developed a 16,300-mІ facility with a 9,700-mІ extension possibility, half of which will be delivered by the first quarter of 2012. The warehouse has a ceiling height of 12 m and has a capacity of about 20,000 pallets. adidas was particularly impressed with IIG’s 9 year lease proposal.
“IIG is proud to assist adidas in further strengthening its position on the Ukrainian market,” says IIG General Manager for Ukraine Jan Decoene. “The adidas project also confirms IIG’s industrial parks strategy. Especially in Ukraine and other CIS states, land titles and utility connections are bound to delay the client’s time to market. Our industrial parks, which are set at strategically crucial locations, are ideal venues for clients like adidas, whose booming business necessitates fast-track solutions.”
Aladdin Group intends to further develop its business by improving the level and quality of its projects. “We are glad to join forces, knowledge and experience in the Ukrainian market with such a reliable and long-term partner as Immo Industry Group,” Vadim Shapirovskiy, Aladdin Group Director-General says. “Due to the rapid growth and development of our company as well as expert community recognition, we have no doubts that together with IIG we will be able to satisfy all the highest demands of clients like adidas,” Shapirovskiy adds.
