OREANDA-NEWS  On 31 October was announced, that the international designing company "Seifert Architects" in association with "Institute Kharkovproekt" will develop the draft design of mixed-use complex at Svoboda Square in Kharkov. The developer of the project is XXI Century Company.

In the end of September 2008 the company "XXI Century Kharkov" held the architectural competition on developing pre-design propositions of the mixed-use shopping and office complex with a hotel, administrative premises and underground parking at Svoboda Square in Kharkov.  According to the competition results there was made a decision to conclude a contract on developing draft design project with "Institute Kharkovproekt" and "Seifert Kiev", representative office of international designing company "Seifert Architects".

"The main task of the competition was to find a concept idea for architectural decision of complicated project that would fit the best the historical architectural ensemble and social status of the largest square in Europe" - has noticed Andrey Mirgorodskiy, member of Directors Committee of XXI Century Company.

This project is one of the steps of the company in implementing its plans of commercial real estate development in Ukraine to EURO-2012.

The mixed-use complex with general area more than 83 000 sq m will consist of A-class office center, shopping center of fashion format, 5-star hotel and underground parking. The administration of the hotel will be realized in association with international operator. The start of construction is planned in 2009, its completion – in 2011. 

The complex location in the heart of the city, at the largest square in Europe nearby with famous architectural monuments makes this project really landmark for Kharkov.

XXI Century is already collaborating with "Seifert Architects". This company has elaborated the architectural conception as well as project and engineering decisions for Sofitel Hotel in Kiev.
