OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2008. The first International Banking Conference of the CIS member states on the "Financial markets of the CIS countries: development and integration" is to be held on October 23-26 in Baku under the sponsorship of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, reported the press-centre of IBA. 

The International Banking Conference of the CIS member states on the "Financial markets of the CIS countries: development and integration" is a unique event, within the framework of which the chief executives of the world's leading banks, private investors, representatives of various financial institutions and governmental authorities are to draw round the same table.

The conference is to be focused on discussing the issues of organizational and structural support for the banking systems in the context of global liquidity crisis, creation of favorable conditions for interpenetration of banks and capitals into the trans-boundary financial markets of the CIS countries.

The International Banking Conference of the CIS member states on the "Financial markets of the CIS countries: development and integration" is held under the sponsorship of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, for which it is far not the first project in support for development of banking sector in Azerbaijan.

The representatives of governments and ministries of the CIS countries, chief executives of the national and other banks of the regional countries are to take part in the conference, within the framework of which the presidents of largest CIS banks and financial institutions are expected to present their reports. The special attention at the conference is to be given to development and integration of financial markets of the CIS countries.

The conference program includes the plenary meetings on the following subjects:

banks and financial institutions of the CIS member states;

new challenges and opportunities;

financial development institutions and banks of the CIS member states in the context of global financial crisis;

problems and prospects of establishing the payment and settlement systems in the CIS countries;

integrated information space of the CIS countries as the instrument of attracting investments into the regional markets of the CIS member states.
