OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2008.  TMK (LSE: TMKS), one of the world’s largest oil and gas pipe producers, announces today that it began supplying TMK FMT Premium threaded tubing to Salym Petroleum Development (SPD). The agreement also includes the rendering of oil and gas field services, making it the first time a Russian pipe producer provides a customer with a complete tubular solution, from product design and manufacturing to running and technical assistance.

Produced at TMK’s Sinarsky Pipe Plant, the 88.9 mm OD TMK FMT Premium tubing with wall thickness of 7.34mm and N80 steel grade will be used in SPD’s West Salym oilfield.  The agreement also included the supply of drill stem subs and couplings.

The shipments and services are carried out by TMK Premium Service Division, which offers a range of patented tubular connections and services, including running assistance, technical support and maintenance.

TMK FMT is a premium-class tubing connection, offering extra gas tightness properties and superior tension and compression parameters. It is designed for oil and gas well applications, including corrosive environments.  Following successful certification with the VNIIGAZ and VNIITneft testing bodies, the TMK FMT is currently undergoing international certification.
