OREANDA-NEWS. On October 28, 2008 Rosneft ranked 6th in the Platts 2008 “Top 250 Energy Companies” list, which is the highest rank among Russian companies. Rosneft also ranked 1st in the “50 Fastest Growing Energy Companies” list, reported the press-centre of Rosneft.

All companies in the “Top 250 Energy Companies” list have assets greater than USD 2 bln. and they were ranked by Platts on the base of four key financial performance metrics: asset worth, revenues, profits and return on invested capital. The basic data came from a database maintained by Standard & Poor’s, which, like Platts, is a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies.

The “50 Fastest Growing Energy Companies” list was published by Platts for the first time and the ranking is based on the companies compounded revenue growth over a three-year period.
