CEO of BTA Met with Proponents of "Leave Houses to People" Association
OREANDA-NEWS On 28 October was announced, that Chief Executive Officer of BTA Bank Roman Solodchenko and other top managers of the Bank met with representatives of "Leave Houses to People" public association.
During the meeting proponents of the public association sought help for their counterparts who have run into difficulties with repaying their mortgage loans. In particular, they pleaded a grace period until the Distressed Assets Fund is put on stream.
Mr Solodchenko has informed participants of the meeting that currently the Bank is working strenuously to review quality of its loan portfolio and is ready to apply the entire spectrum of available instruments to tackle the issue.
In particular, the Bank restructures unrecoverable loans through individual repayment schedules, deferral of payments, refinancing and prolongation of credit terms.
"New agreements are essential in the new economic conditions. We are ready to compromise and expect a constructive dialogue with our clients. I can guarantee that the Bank will pass over no application," BTA Bank’s chief has emphasized at the meeting.
Chief executives of the Bank have also highlighted that transactions with real estate are not its core activities. In this regard BTA Bank views a legal recourse for attachment as a measure of last resort when all opportunities for a dialogue with a client are exhausted.
Bank’s head has urged all clients to dial hot line phone numbers 2500-111, 2500-222, 8-8000-800-111 (free of charge calls from fixed phones throughout Kazakhstan) to clear up any issues. These numbers can also be dialed to report any misfeasance by BTA employees.
