OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2008. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko demands from the participants of medical products market to reduce medicine prices to the level of October 1 within a week. With such statement the Head of Government addressed a meeting on this issue.

At that the Head of Government will require from the controlling units, in particular, Antimonopoly Committee, State Tax Administration and State Customs Service to submit reports on measures undertaken.

Yulia Tymoshenko also commissioned to revise 12 thousand drug-stores and ascertain who their proprietors are and why the majority of them had not reduced medicine prices.

The Prime Minister also intends to hold a meeting on controlling the quality of medical products on Monday, October 27. “I won’t set aside this issue – believe me. Until a system up to the last supplier developed and the quality of every pill controlled – I won’t disregard it”.

At that Yulia Tymoshenko noted that Government is ready to provide any support to introduce order in the medicine products market but if agreements are not implemented she promised to apply “public instruments”.
