FAS Monitors Markets for Socially Important Goods
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 21, 2008 to ensure stability on the goods markets in the Russian Federation against the crisis of the financial markets, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) instructed its regional offices to carry out on a regular basis monthly monitoring of the markets for the socially important goods: bread, milk and sunflower oil, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS Russia points out in its instruction that the emphasis should be on prevention and suppressing abuses of dominant position by individual economic entities, or abusing dominant position under collective dominance, and discovering anticompetitive agreements and concerted actions as well as other phenomena, destabilizing situation on agricultural goods markets in the Russian Federation.
Should the monitoring reveal violations of the antimonopoly legislation, the regional offices of FAS Russia must inform the Central Office and immediately adopt the appropriate measure of antimonopoly regulation.
