OREANDA-NEWS. On October 21, 2008 As it was informed in the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture and food industry, this was declared by Gyorgy Varga during the meeting with the head of the ministry Anatoly Gorodenco.

The parties have discussed possible support of Hungary to agro-industrial sector of Moldova, including, re-equipment of sanitary-veterinary laboratories, promotion of new technologies in the field of production of foodstuffs as well as exchange of experience between the experts.

Speaking about implementation of the Scientific and Technical-economic cooperation Agreement between the Ministries of Moldova and Hungary, Anatoly Gorodenco has supported creation of the mixed committee for definition of concrete directions of cooperation and coordination of joint efforts.

According to the minister, Moldova is interested in cooperation in the area of science: creation and improvement kinds of plants, implementation of technologies on saving humidity in soils, increase of competitiveness of Moldavian products and their deliveries to European market.

According to the data of the Customs service (excluding Transnistria), for the first 8 months 2008 the volume of trade exchange of agricultural and agro-industrial goods between Moldova and Hungary has made about US16 million, vs. US 9,4 million at the same period of the last year.

Export made US 5,1 million or US 2,6 million more in comparison with the same period of 2007.
