OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2008. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko states that increase of medical products prices is a “scale speculative operation” which will be ceased at once. She disclosed this today at the beginning of the Gov’t special sitting.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, since yesterday the country faced unbiased increase of medical products prices. “The State Committee for pricing inspected all drug-stores and cleared up that a scale speculative operation has been launched in the country which requires immediate response including response of the force structures,” Yulia Tymoshenko said. The Head of Government reminded that she had appealed to the Prosecutor’s General Office with demands to respond to this situation. 

At the same time Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that “concrete people shield it doing their dirty business following the concept of the global financial crisis”.

The Prime Minister informed that she had met with the suppliers of imported medical products, with representatives of pharmaceutic networks “all of them are notified in advance about responsibility for unbiased increase of medicine prices”. We know what parties and political forces are shielding it and if they are not settled down within three-four days I will call the names of politicians who ordered to profit at the expense of people’s trouble and financial crisis,” Yulia Tymoshenko stated.

She also added that during today’s Gov’t sitting it is planned to approve a Resolution providing for introduction of boundary price increase for medical products. At that, according to Yulia Tymoshenko after adoption of the relevant documents a repeated inspection of all drug-stores will be held and if raises are revealed such drug-stores will be closed and medical products – withdrawn.
