OREANDA-NEWS  On 23 October was announced, that the State Duma is currently working on a project of the federal budget that stipulated a considerable rise of the charge for the federal goal-oriented program Modernization of Russia’s Transport System 2002-2010.

“The budget allocations within the federal goal-oriented program are to exceed USD 14 billion in 2009 that is almost USD 4 billion more than in the current year,” State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov said.

According to the official, it will be considerable investment and the quality of its use will affect the achievement of the stated goals within the whole Strategy 2020.

Mr Gryzlov noted that the goals concerning the development of the transport and the proper infrastructure had the special places in the long-term strategy of the social and economic development of Russia scheduled till 2020.

The Chairman added that the construction, reconstruction and repair of the highways was the most important line of the work creating the conditions necessary for improving the life quality all over the country, for the dynamic economic development and for the public security.
