Commercial Port of Vladivostok Ready for Cooperation with Hokkaido
OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2008. Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV) met the delegation of the Japanese businessmen of Hokkaido with the Governor of Hokkaido Mrs. Takahashi Harumi as the head; the CPV Directorate on the Public Relations informs. The goal of this visit is to learn more of the economic and investment projects in the Far East and to discuss the issues of broadening of the cooperation between both countries. According to Mrs. Takahashi Harumi, Hokkaido is the center of food industry and this year the Japanese party intends to export the first trial lot of foodstuff in containers through the ports of the Russian Far East.
The visitors are interested in the projects of the CPV development, especially its container terminals, the terms of cooperation, the depth description at the moors and on the way to the port, and also the influence of the climatic conditions on the port work. The representatives of CPV in their turn confirmed that they are ready for cooperation and told about the possibilities of processing of different cargo, and the prospects of container facilities development.
The Open Joint Stock Company “Commercial Port of Vladivostok” holds and administrates the sea port of Vladivostok – one of the largest sea ports in the Russian Far East. In 2007 the freight turnover of the CPV came to 4 855.8 thousand tones, it exceeded the indicators of the previous year 20%. CommercialPort of Vladivostok contains 17 moorings, including the specialized ones – container, passenger, and automobile. The CPV management system meets the international standards of port business.
