Moldovan Wine Export Increased by 79%
OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2008. For eight months of 2008, the volume of export of Moldovan winemaking produsts amounted to US129 million, having increased by 79% in comparison with the same period of the last year.
As the press-service of Agro-industrial agency "Moldova-Vin" informs, the volume of export to CIS has grown by 88 % - up to US 111 million, to EU countries – by 40 % - up to US 15,3 million and in other countries – by 39 % - up to US 2,4 million.
Thus, CIS imports 86,32 % of all exported Moldavian alcohol. At the same time, EU’s share in the total amount of exported Moldavian alcohol has reached 12%.
Ten main markets for Moldovan winemaking goods is headed by Russia with volume of US 41,2 million or 33,5 % in the total Moldovan wine export. Then follows: Ukraine - US 32,1 million (+26,2 %), Belarus - US 30,2 million (+24,6), Poland – US 6,1 million (+4,96 %), Kazakhstan - US 3,8 million (+2,9 %), Romania – US 3,6 million (+2,9 %), Czech Republic – US 1,7 million (+1,4 %), Azerbaijan - US 1,7 million (+1,38 %), Georgia - US 1,2 million (+0,99 %) and USA - US 1 million (+0,9 %).
"Moldova-Vin" notes that presence of four countries not CIS-members in this list is a good trend.
Besides this, the growth of deliveries of winemaking goods to China – by 3,7 times – up to US 376 thousand was also registered.
