OREANDA-NEWS  On 20 October was announced, that the Shukhov Belgorod State Technical University hosted the International Cement Producers' Congress. EUROCEMENT group was the general partner of the forum.

The congress gathered representatives of international cement production holdings, scientists from the CIS and far-abroad countries, industry experts from various regions of the country. The forum participants were mainly concentrated on the prospects of the Russian cement industry development, environmental and personnel problems of the industry. The issues of production automation, new technology implementation, product storage and transportation were also discussed.

The congress venue was chosen not at random. Firstly, three new plants are being built in the Belgorod region. Secondly, the Shukhov Belgorod State Technical University is the largest Russian specialist educational establishment which trains specialists for construction industry enterprises.

Within the framework of the congress a contract for training highly-qualified specialists for the Russian plants at the Shukhov Belgorod State Technical University was signed. German colleagues presented the University department with a Simulex training simulator enabling to simulate various processes emerging during the operation of production equipment in cement plants.

A visit to the operating quarry and Belgorodsky cement plant integrated in EUROCEMENT group was arranged for the congress participants. The guests asked questions about environment protection measures being taken in the plant. Viktor Khludeev, the technical director of the plant, answered: "Our plant is located in the city center, besides, our tubes are the highest in Belgorod, that's why the regulating organizations pay increased attention to our plant. We constantly decide environmental issues, annually allocate money for modern filters and it provides good results".

Within the frames of the congress its participants presented their expositions, round tables and plenary sessions on topical issues were held. The representatives of the international holdings had an opportunity to meet and communicate with journalists.

At the end of the congress a resolution was adopted in order to draw the attention of the President of the Russian Federation and the Federal Government to the industry problems. In particular, the point is introducing control over the imported cement quality, working out a state policy in relation to the industry development and encouraging the cement plants development in the country. All the congress participants also supported the initiatives of the annual organization of the International Cement Producers' Congress and establishment of a staff training and retraining center at the Shukhov Belgorod State Technical University.
