OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2008. Aeroflot Russian Airlines has put a new Airbus A320 into service, which is already the twentieth aircraft of its kind among Aeroflot’s fleet. The airplane was named after the famous Russian traveller, sailor, explorer and hydrologist Yuri Lisyansky, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The aircraft was acquired within the the terms of the contract on operational leasing, which had been concluded with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in November 2006.

At present there are a total of 41 Airbus A320 family aircraft among Aeroflot’s fleet, in detail: 11 A319, 20 A320 and 10 A321. All of these aircraft are configured with Business and Economy Class seats, providing 116 seats in the A319, 140 seats in the A320 and 170 seats in the A321.

They are flying to inner-Russian as well as European destinations. With its current fleet, Aeroflot is among the world’s leaders, measured by indicators of flight safety and actual flying time.

The Airbus A320 is one of the best airplanes on medium-range flights; it meets all the requirements of safety, reliability and passenger convenience.
