New Insurance Company Established in Uzbekistan
OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2008. Two commercial banks of Uzbekistan: Microcreditbnank and Turonbank established new insurance company – "Agro Invest Sugurta" to provide insurance services in the agricultural sector of economy.
As informed general director of the company, the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan issued license to the company for 7 types of general voluntary insurance. The charter capital of the company is 850 mln. soums and distributed by shareholders: 51.2% - Microcreditbank, 41.2% - Turonbank and 7.6% - Agromashlizing.
Nowadays there are operating 30 insurance companies in the country, including 1 company which work insphere of life insurance, 28 companies in sphere of general insurance and 1 reinsurace company. Total insurance premiums of all companies has increased by 45.5% in 2007 and reached 72.3 bln. soum. The volume of insurance payments has increased by 14.5% and reached 7.9 bln. soums.
