OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2008. KAMAZ participates at the 5th International Specialized Exhibition “Transles-2008” which is being held in Saint-Petersburg on these days.

The aim of the exhibition is presentation of modern equipment intended for freighting and storage of primary forest products, construction of forest roads. It will also serve as a business area for experts and investors.

KAMAZ has recently taken measures to return to the timber industry. The share of KAMAZ vehicle sales for the Russian timber enterprises is 40%. Logging truck-and-trailer units, short log trucks with or without hydraulic manipulators, prime movers, chip and metal scrap trucks are among asked-for vehicles.

At “Transles-2008” KAMAZ presented two models intended for timber enterprises:

– Short log truck 689070 (on KAMAZ-65117 chassis, 6x4) meant for transportation of round wood 2, 4, 6, 8 metres long under difficult road conditions.

– Log truck KAMAZ-6426 (on KAMAZ-6426 chassis, 6x6). It is simple to operate and grants all customers’ demands.

The presented models proved to be good during the tests and received the customers’ highest appreciation.
