OREANDA-NEWS. On October 10, 2008 OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter - the Company) confirmed that it received a request from Gershvin Investments Corp. Limited, which the Company understands is controlled by UC RUSAL, to convene an Extraordinary Shareholders Meeting of the Company to consider the removal of the existing members of the Board of Directors of the Company and the election of new Board members, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.

The Board of Directors of the Company will consider this request in accordance with Russian law.
