OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2008. Members of the group of persons of "Mechel" Ltd. including "Mechel" Trading House" Ltd, "Yuzhny Kuzbass" Coal Company" OJSC and "Yakutugol" Holding Company" OJSC informed the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) on transferring 398 867 645 Rubles to the federal budget as an administrative fine, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 20th August 2008, under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation for Administrative Violations, FAS Russia imposed administrative fine upon the group of persons, including "Mechel" Trading House" Ltd, "Yuzhny Kuzbass" Coal Company" OJSC and "Yakutugol" Holding Company" OJSC, for breaching Clauses 1, 5 and 8 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition". The group of persons was allowed to pay the administrative fine by installments within up to three months: paying 50% of the fine in the first month and the remaining 50% in the next three months.

"Raspadsky Ugol" Ltd. also informed FAS Russia on transferring 117 245 642.6 Rubles to the federal budget. The company was held administratively liable for breaching Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" by maintaining monopolistically high prices on cocking coal.
