OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 October was announced, that the "Development of IT System" Project of IDGC of Centre, JSC, got into the final of the competition for reception of the IPMA (International Project Management Association) International Award for Project Management Excellence.

Getting into the final of this competition means for a team participant that it will be for sure among the three leaders. The ranking remains secret till the solemn ceremony of rewarding. Gala-presentation with opening of envelopes and representation of the winner takes place on 10 November 2008 in Rome. On this day, prizes and certificates are to be awarded according to tabulating the results; after this, assessors' reports on the projects presented in the competition will be handed over to the participants.

The IPMA Project Management Excellence International Award is awarded to the team of the project which reached the best results among the projects presented in the competition – to those who are the most successful representatives of the "Project Management" activities.

For the first time this award was organized in 2002. Since then, the list of winners was supplied with a lot of the companies and teams from all over the world. The estimation of participants of projects is performed on the basis of the "Project Excellence” model. This model is an adjustable and open concept. The elements of the model are based on the fundamental positions, concepts and experience of application of the Total Quality Management (TQM) approaches. The model constantly develops on the basis of experience of outstanding organizations and project teams, and IDGC of Centre is among these organizations.

In August 2008, within three days, the IPMA experts (from Russia, Denmark, Poland, the Great Britain and Germany) in detail studied the company's activities and the project itself. The company's activities were presented by General Director Evgeniy Makarov and Project Manager - Deputy General Director for Information Technologies and Business Modeling of IDGC of Centre Pavel Obukhov. "The life has given us a chance to build a leader company, and we decided to take this chance", the General Director of IDGC of Centre said in his presentation.
