OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2008. Ukrainian enterprises of all forms of ownership have threshed 46,242.5 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. Their average yield is 34.5 centners per ha.

The enterprises also threshed 256.2 thousand tons of buckwheat and 225.1 thousand tons of millet, the Agrarian Ministry reported with reference to the operative regions' data.

Sunflower was threshed on 59% territories planned with average yield of 15.1 centners per ha. The enterprises got 3,740 million tons of grain.

As many as 6,517.9 million ha of winter crops (excluding rape) were sown including 4,784.9 million ha of winter wheat and triticale, 381.4 thousand ha of rye and 368.2 thousand ha of barley.

Harvesting of soy and sugar beets is going on. Soy average yield totals 12.7 centners per ha, 194.9 thousand tons have already been harvested. Average yield of sugar beets amounts to 333.1 centners per ha, 4,821.5 million tons of the crop have already been harvested.
