OREANDA-NEWS  On 10 October was announced, that within the limits of the official visit in Ukraine, ANTONOV ASTC was visited by His Majesty King of Sweden, Karl XVI Gustav. The official delegation of Sweden consisted of H.E. Mr. Carl Bildt, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. John-Christer Ahlander, Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine, Major-General Hakan Pettersson, Chief of His Majesty’s Military Staff, representatives of leading industrial enterprises including SAAB companies and other official persons, accompanied the King.

Mr. Volodymyr Novitskii, Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine and Mr. Dmytro Kiva, General Designer, told to the eminent guests about possibilities and perspectives of Ukrainian aviation industry.

During the visit His Majesty performed a short training flight on simulator of AN-74, viewed the cabin of this multipurpose aircraft and AN-148 regional jet of a new generation. Especial interest he demonstrated to the high technologies developed and used in aviation industry of Ukraine.

According to Mr. Kiva, the guests paid much attention to possible directions of cooperation between Swedish and Ukrainian enterprises. “We shall start cooperation with a number of Swedish firms on various programmes, both parties are interested in development of this partnership. Having installed components manufactured in Sweden at ANTONOV airplanes, we shall be able to enter new markets including European and Asian ones”.
