OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2008. The representatives of ROSNO’s Siberian Directorate took part in the 3rd Congress of Siberian Construction Companies held in the town Belokurikha (Altai Krai), reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The congress organizers were the Union of Siberian Construction Companies, Administration of the Altai Krai, and the Union of Altai Krai Construction Companies. The congress convened under the patronage of Mr. Anatoly Kvashnin, authorized representative of the RF President in the Siberian Federal Okrug.

The congress participants have discussed in detail the issues related to the new Law No.148-FZ on self-regulation in the construction sector. This law contemplates formation of the three types of SROs — one for surveyors, one for designers, and one for construction companies. In the first two cases, the quantity of SRO members shall be not less than fifty, and in the third case — at least one hundred, and each of the members shall contribute 1 million roubles to the compensation fund.

In his speech at the roundtable discussion held during the congress, Mr. Dmitry Terentyev, head of the corporate sales department in ROSNO's Siberian Directorate, reminded that the law stipulated decreasing the size of contributions to the compensation fund from 1 million roubles to 300 thousand roubles, provided that the respective construction company insures its professional liability.

ROSNO's purpose at this congress is to understand expectations of construction companies with regard to their future cooperation with insurers. "Insurance companies must directly participate in formation and operation of the self-regulating organizations and shall take into account the opinions expressed by construction companies, in order to conduct scrupulous development of the terms of insurance coverage of civil liability and construction-and-assembly and financial risks incurred by construction companies", said Mr. Dmitry Terentyev.
