Belorusneft’s Russian Branch to Be Converted into Belorusneft Siberia
OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2008. The Russian branch of Belarusian petrochemical company Belorusneft will be converted into limited liability company Belorusneft Siberia.
Belorusneft Siberia has been created and registered as a resident company of the Russian Federation. The new company will replace Belorusneft’s branch opened in the the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District last year. The step will streamline Belorusneft business in Russia.
The company will have the same goals, including the construction of wells, their maintenance and major overhauls, ratholing, backfilling, derrick mounting, geophysical operations, assimilation of new technologies and their scientific support.
This year Belorusneft increased the amount of services for major overhaul of oil wells in Western Siberia. Respectively the number of Belorusneft teams involved in these services has increased. At present there are 3 teams in Russia restoring wells through ratholing, 10 teams for major overhauls of wells, a drilling crew, 2 backfilling crews, a derrick mounting crew, and two logging crews of logging engineers as well as a large number of transportation workers, all in all, over 800 people.
In 2007 almost 15 years later Belorusneft resumed its services in Russia. The main customers are Rosneft-Purneftegaz and the Siberian Well Construction Administration.
Founded in 1966, production association Belorusneft is part of Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim. It prospects and develops oil fields, drills wells, extracts oil and associated petroleum gas. In January-August 2008 Belarus extracted 1.158 million tonnes of oil, 99% as against the same period of last year. In 2007 oil extraction amounted to 1.76 million tonnes (98.9% as against 2006).
