CenterTelecom Rewards 500,000th DOMOLINK Subscriber
OREANDA-NEWS On 09 October was announced, that Pavel Repin, Deputy General Director, CenterTelecom OJSC, had led an awards ceremony recognizing Ruslan Prokhorov as the 500,000th subscriber of DOMOLINK, the company’s broadband Internet access service based on ADSL 2+. The ceremony took place at the Orel branch of the company.
During the ceremony, Mr. Repin pointed out that continuing growth of the company’s subscriber base and the high rate of DOMOLINK service’s connections was attributable to the coordinated operations of all CenterTelecom divisions including the General Directorate and regional branches. The activities of the company’s divisions are focused on improvement of service quality and expansion of the range of Internet access services available for Russia’s Central Federal District (CFD) population.
The DOMOLINK program subscriber base has risen to over 525,000 subscribers. This represents 72% of the total subscriber base anticipated by late 2008. CenterTelecom management’s forecast provides for more than 730,000 DOMOLINK subscribers as of 31 Dec. 2008. This will allow the company to increase its share of the Internet access services market in the CFD to 47% (vs 37% in 2007).
The DOMOLINK program is one of the company's priority strategic tasks focused on implementation of new technologies, provision of high quality telecommunications services to the population of Central Federal District, and also improvement of the company's sales system and aftersales service.
CenterTelecom offers the DOMOLINK service through the company’s 15 regional branches. In future CenterTelecom plans to render additional services based on xDSL technology. The new services will include not only high speed Internet access but also a number of interactive services such as IPTV, VoD, PVR, network games etc.
