OREANDA-NEWS  On 09 October was announced, that Ingosstrakh IJSC is a General Partner of the 19th International Tennis Tournament “Kremlin Cup” - 2008 that take place in Moscow, Olimpiyskiy sport center, on October 4-12. The prize money of the tournament is USD 2 438 000. Ingosstrakh IJSC and Kremlin Cup have been cooperating for seven years now. All these years Ingosstrakh also acted as a general partner. In 2008, Ingosstrakh insured organizers’ liability for damage to health, life and property of third parties, including visitors, participants, spectators, guests, workers and tenants resulting from the event. The limit of liability is USD 5 mln in Ruble equivalent. 

Besides, this year Ingosstrakh founded special prizes for tennis players in memory of Viacheslav Ivanovich Scherbakov, who died last April. Viacheslav Ivanovich believed that this support to the Kremlin Cup was one of the main projects of Ingosstrakh’s sponsorship. He loved this beautiful game and enjoyed visiting the Olimpiyskiy sport center to see the matches. This year, Ingosstrakh will award prizes in two nominations - "Fair play" and "Miss Kremlin Cup". Winners will be announced by the commission made up of the representatives of Ingosstrakh, Kremlin Cup, ATP and WTA Tour and awarded special crystal cups performed by  Мario Cioni. The cups will be awarded by Tatiana Aleksandrovna Scherbakova. 

According to Ilia Solomatin, Vice President of Ingosstrakh IJSC, “cooperation with the Kremlin Cup became a good long-standing tradition for the insurance company. It is aimed primarily at making tennis more popular. The tournament has grown to become the most prestigious event in Russia. Thousands of viewers come to the Olimpiyskiy annually in order to see this exciting game. It must also be mentioned that the Association of Tennis Professionals has several times called the organization of the Kremlin Cup the best.

According to President of the Tennis Federation of Russia Shamil Tarpischev, “a longstanding successful cooperation with Ingosstrakh, without any doubt, promotes tennis in this country and helps our players to win. And there were quite many victories lately: in 2007 Russian players won the Kremlin Cup; women won the whole pedestal in the Olympic Games in Beijing; in September 2008 Russian women’s team won the Federation Cup for the 4th time.  I hope that we will continue to strengthen our cooperation with Ingosstrakh and it will be beneficial for development of tennis and will help Russian athletes win more prestigious competitions”.

It must be mentioned that Ingosstrakh has been actively supporting Russian sports and that the company pays special attention to tennis. Ingosstrakh was a partner and insurer of the 1/8 and 1/4 of the final of Davis Cup - 2008, as well as of the semifinal match of Davis Cup – 2007 and final match of Davis Cup – 2006. The famous Davis Cup (“Silver Bowl”) was also insured by Ingosstrakh for the whole period of its stay in Russia. Besides, in 2008, Ingosstrakh supported the Tennis Federation of Russia during the celebration of its 100th  anniversary  and published an album called “Milestones of Victories” that featured unique historical pictures from the archives of the Tennis Federation of Russia.
