OREANDA-NEWS  On 09 October was announced, that Siverskodonetsk Azot Association (AZOT), a major producer of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers, had overhauled 1-B ammonia production workshop.

The overhaul has been carried out from August 29 till October 4.

In the course of repairs a solution was replaced in the device purifying gas of carbon dioxide, which enabled to lower energy consumption of the unit, to consume less steam for turbine rolling and consequently to reduce consumption of natural gas.

Next overhaul is planned to be done in 2010.

Siverskodonetsk Azot association ended April-June with a net profit of UAH 55.448 million, having increased its net revenue by 54.62% or UAH 350.533 million to UAH 992.278 million, compared to the similar period of 2007.

Siverskodonetsk Azot Association ended 2007 with a net profit of UAH 43.584 million, having increased its net revenue by 14.9% or UAH 363.05 million to UAH 2,799.39 million, compared to 2006.

Siverskodonetsk Azot Association is one of Ukraine's largest ammonia, carbamide and ammonium nitrate producer.

Worldwide Chemical LLC (a subsidiary of the American IBE Trade Corporation) owns 60% of the shares in the Siverskodonetsk Azot Association closed joint-stock company, while the State Property Fund owns 40%.
