OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2008. In January-September, 2008, seaport Kavkaz (Krasnodar region, Sea of Azov) handled 5.417 million tonnes of cargo (+11.22%, year-on-year).

In the reported period the port handled 890,490 tonnes of general cargo, 2.505 million tonnes of oil products and 41,160 tonnes of fertilizers. Turnover of railway-ferry service amounted to 1.508 million tonnes of cargo. In January-September, 2008 the port handled 1,790 vessels.

Port Kavkaz is situated at the border of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov at Kerch Strait from the side of Russia. In 2007 it handled 6.375 million tonnes of cargo.
