OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2008. The Ylyanovsk Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) fined "Volzhskaya Regional Generating Company" OJSC 27 416 525.00 Rubles for antimonopoly violations, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier the Ylyanovsk OFAS Russia recognized that "Volzhskaya Regional Generating Company" OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position). The company breached the law by unjustified reduction of heat energy supplies to "Teplocom" Municipal Unitary Enterprise when it reduced the heating water temperature. The Ylyanovsk OFAS Russia concluded that since "Teplocom" cannot replenish, compensate or otherwise replace the heat energy received from "Volzhskaya Regional Generating Company" OJSC, such reduction infringed the company's interests.

Under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, such administrative offence is punishable by fines - 1-15 % of the proceeds of the violator from the goods (works, services) on the market where the violation occurred.
