OREANDA-NEWS. October 6, 2008. After a break of many years KAMAZ became an exhibitor at the “Building – TajikBuild 2008” International Show which took place in Dushanbe – the capital of Tajikistan.

KAMAZ just couldn’t but participate in the exhibition: this year 4 new sections appeared in it among which there is “Road-Building Machinery and Structural Engineering”. And this is that very market segment where KAMAZ predominates. The KAMAZ exposition is intended for the construction market representatives, customers and contractors, construction material producers. Besides, the production of the Kama auto plant will help numerous firms working in the Republic of Tajikistan in mineral resource industry and geological prospecting.

After a long economic crisis Tajikistan starts reviving becoming a more active player in international business. Construction industry of the country is dynamically developing. Being key for the majority of developing countries, exactly this industry determines the rate and effectiveness of long-term economic and social projects.

The budget of the republic apportions considerable sums for construction of social projects including housing estates and hotels. For instance, construction of four deluxe hotels, housing estates “Dushanbe-80” and “Burchi Sulh” is started. Highway engineering is developing as well. A motor road “Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog-Kulma” is constructed, important strategic transport projects – a highway “Dushanbe-Saritosh” and an express-way “Dushanbe-Khujand-Buston-Chanak” are being reconstructed.

Two large projects are being realized in Tajikistan by the Russian companies – that is the construction of the Rogunskaya and Sangutdinskaya hydroelectric power plants. Of course, KAMAZ is among the project participants. There is a great demand for Kama trucks in Tajikistan. The sales analysis shows that KAMAZ takes 68% of the whole Tajik truck market. Side prime-movers (45%) and dumpers (32%) are in the lead among them.

In whole, the KAMAZ vehicle fleet in Tajikistan numbers over 5 thousand units. The capacity of the market of spare parts for KAMAZ vehicles makes up \\$3.0 million. It is expected that the sales volumes will be increased in 2008 due to activation of the Russian companies on the Tajik market. The main operator in realization of KAMAZ production is KAMAZ Automobile Service Center, the company’s official dealer in Dushanbe.
