Antimonopoly Committee Fined Zhytomyrhaz with UAH 19,000
OREANDA-NEWS October 6, 2008. Zhytomyr regional division of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined Zhytomyrhaz (ZHGZ) gas supplying company with UAH 19,000 for monopoly abuse.
The division found out that Zhytomyrhaz terminated gas supply to a consumer without basis.
Moreover, the company charged it with additional payment for the consumed gas.
Zhytomyrhaz recalculated payment for gas on demand of the Antimonopoly Committee division.
Financial sanctions were imposed on the company for the detected violations.
Zhytomyrhaz ended April-June with a loss of UAH 10.391 million.
The company ended 2007 with losses of UAH 11.109 million, having increased net revenue by 36.66% or UAH 90.961 million, compared to 2006, to UAH 339.093 million.
Zhytomyrhaz transports gas via distribution pipelines and also sells gas to the population, budget-financed organizations and boiler houses in Zhytomyr region.
As of early 2007, a 15.86% stake in OJSC Zhytomyrhaz belonged to Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company, 35.1% to Haztek (Kyiv), and 24% to each Pasler Enterprises, Porala Ventures, Nesiba Ventures and Krezer Holdings (all registered in Cyprus).
