OREANDA-NEWS. On September 30, 2008, the Sakhalin Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) fined "RN-Nefteproduct" Ltd. 95 303 070 Rubles for abusing dominant position, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 21st August 2008 the Sakhalin OFAS Russia recognized that "RN-Nefteproduct" Ltd. violated Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position on the goods market) and issued a determination to eliminate the violations.

The case was initiated upon petitions from economic entities, involved in retail sales of motor petrol and diesel fuel at the petrol stations in Yuzhno-Sakhlinsk, complaining about "RN-Nefteproduct" Ltd. that unreasonably fixed different prices for the same goods.

Having investigated the case, the antimonopoly office has concluded that "RN-Nefteproduct" Ltd. is trying to affect the overall conditions of goods circulation on the relevant goods market and (or) create obstacles for other economic entities entering the market, which infringes the interests of the Petitioners.
