BTA Bank Takes Part at Korean Loan Market Conference
OREANDA-NEWS. October 02, 2008. LLS “BTA Bank”, Russia, participated in the Korean Loan Market Conference, Seoul, South Korea, reported the press-centre of BTA Bank.
Organized by the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA), the Conference brought together representatives from more than 150 financial institutions of Korea, Japan, Hong-Kong, Singapore and other countries.
The focus of the event was to discuss development of South Korean capital markets, including the outlook for syndicated loan markets in the region.
Along with attending the main agenda, BTA Bank’s representatives met with a number of colleagues from leading South Korean financial institutions.
In May 2008 BTA Bank, Moscow, became the first Russian bank to join APLMA, a pan-Asian association acting as a liaison between syndicated loan professionals, major loan market players and regional regulators. APLMA was established in 1998 and now it has 174 members, the bulk of which are major global banks such as Agricultural Bank of China, Asia Development Bank, Bank of East Asia, China Development Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd., Bank of Shanghai, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, BA Asia, Bank of China, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Limited, HSBC Investment Bank Asia, National Australia Bank, Sumitomo Bank, Arab Bank plc and many others.
