OREANDA-NEWS. On October 01, 2008 AB Mazeikiu Nafta and AB Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai have signed an interim agreement which will govern the rail transportation of the refinery products, reported the press-centre of Mazeikiu Nafta.

The interim agreement reduces the tension between the two companies and will be effective until the issues causing the dispute between the parties are resolved. These issues are associated with different interpretation of the 1999 agreement related to the applicable tariffs.

The shortest railway route from the Refinery in Mazeikiu District to Reng village in Latvia is still closed. Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai closed this railway section on September 2, 2008.
