OREANDA-NEWS. October 2, 2008. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan keeps on assistance for Turkmenistan in geological surveys of its sector of the Caspian Sea.

SOCAR reports that today its geological exploration vessel Zohrab Veliyev entered in territorial waters of Turkmenistan for prospecting surveys on the shelf.

The vessel built in 1972 participated in 15 prospecting expeditions in Turkmen sector of the Caspian. The vessel has cruising capacity of 32 days. It can conduct surveys at water depth of 150 m. This year it has undergone upgrade and was installed new geophysical, geological and navigation equipment made in the United States and Holland.
