OREANDA-NEWS  On 02 October was announced, that the National Bank of Ukraine decided to refinance Prominvestbank (PIB) for USD 206 (UAH 1bn). The decision was taken to prevent panic, which started in Donetsk on 26 September as a result of rumours and manipulated press reports about the possible default of the bank and unfair treatment of its minority shareholders. As a result of the panic depositors in Prominvestbank withdrew USD 62mn in the period from 26 to 29 September. More than once PIB announced that the rumours were the result of an intentional attack on the bank.
