Presidential Lukashenko Decree Announces Energy Saving
OREANDA-NEWS. On September 30, 2008 The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed Decree No 529 “On Introducing Amendments and Additions to Decree No 573 of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 30 September 1999”, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.
The purpose of the new document is to encourage the saving of all types of resources.
According to the amendments, annual competitions will be held among organisations and regions for the best savers of material, fuel and energy resources, with the winners to be inscribed on the National Board of Honour.
The Decree sets out the conditions of the competition and the procedure for identifying the winners. The main criterion for identifying them will be the best fulfilment of the energy saving targets (or performing even better) given unconditional achievement of all social and economic development targets.
Every year, 12 places will be allotted on the National Honour Board for the winners of this competition.
The Decree comes into force after its official publication.
